Romans 7:6 – Today’s Verse for July 19, 2025 Saturday

“But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.“
—  Romans 7:6 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

This verse punches through legalism like sunlight through fog. Paul’s not saying the law was bad—he’s saying we were bad under it. The law pointed fingers. The Spirit points the way. Under the law, obedience felt like prison—stone tablets, strict rules, constant guilt. But in Christ, we’ve been released from that system. Not to sin freely, but to serve freely. There’s a massive difference.

The old way was about checking boxes. The new way? Breathing grace. It’s like moving from a job you hate to a calling you love. Same action—serve God. Whole new reason. Whole new heart. The law demanded. The Spirit transforms. The result? Joyful service. Not because we have to. Because we get to.

Personal Prayer

Father, thank You for breaking the chains of performance-based faith. I don’t want to live by checklists anymore—I want to be led by Your Spirit. Remind me that I’m not under the weight of rules, but walking in the freedom of grace.

Make my obedience light, full of love, not fear. Help me serve You with a heart that’s alive, not bound. And when I drift back to the old ways, pull me gently forward. Let every act of service come from the joy of knowing You. Amen. (1234567891011121314151617181920)
