But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter. — Romans 7:6 KJV
But now we have been released from the Law, having died to that by which we were bound, so that we serve in newness of the Spirit and not in oldness of the letter. — Romans 7:6 NASB
Reflection
Living by the Spirit means following God’s guidance in our hearts rather than just following a set of external rules. It’s like moving from a black-and-white picture to a vibrant, colorful life. We now serve God out of love and gratitude, not out of fear or obligation.
This new way is not about strict adherence to laws but about a relationship with God. It’s about letting the Holy Spirit guide us, transforming us from the inside out. We are free to serve God with joy and love, experiencing the full life He offers.
We should therefore move from a life of trying to follow the law perfectly to a life led by the Spirit, filled with freedom, love, and true service to God.
My Prayer
Father, help me to grow in faith and to deepen my relationship with You. Teach me to listen to Your voice and to respond with obedience and love.
I lift up to You my family, friends, and all those I care about. Protect them, bless them, and draw them closer to You. Provide for their needs and surround them with Your love and grace.
I surrender my worries and fears to You, knowing that You are in control. I pray that Your will be done in my life, and may I always bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
