Romans 7:4 – Today’s Verse for August 14, 2025 Thursday

“Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.“
—  Romans 7:4 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

The law’s grip—its endless measuring, its demands, its finger always pointing—isn’t hanging over your head anymore.

That’s jarring, isn’t it? Most of us grew up thinking God was still keeping a scorecard. But Paul’s saying it’s not even in the room anymore. You died to it. And death ends a contract. No one calls a dead man to remind him of unpaid bills.

And here’s the part that blows my mind—you’re not just free from, you’re free for. To belong to Christ. To bear fruit for God. This isn’t about floating around “lawless,” it’s about finally being alive in the One who fulfilled the law and took you with Him into that victory. The old “try harder” life ends in the grave. The new life grows because you’re joined to the Living One.

Ever notice fruit trees don’t strain to produce? They don’t grunt, don’t clench their teeth, don’t sweat over it. They just stay connected to life and fruit happens. That’s grace. That’s your life now—rooted in Him, not under the whip.

Personal Prayer

Lord, remind me that I am no longer under the law’s shadow, but alive in You. Teach me to live like someone who truly belongs to You—free, rooted, and bearing fruit without fear.

Keep me close so Your life flows through mine, and let that be enough. Amen.
