Romans 6:13 – Today’s Verse for June 14, 2025 Saturday

“Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.“
—  Romans 6:13 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

It’s easy to live on autopilot, letting habits run the show. We hand ourselves over to sin not with some evil plan, but through little daily surrenders—jealousy we nurse, gossip we enjoy, pride we polish. But Paul flips the script: Don’t let sin borrow your body. Don’t lend your hands to harm, your mouth to destruction, or your mind to fear. Instead, hand it all over to God like a set of instruments He can actually play.

God doesn’t need perfection; He wants willingness. Your eyes to see the hurting. Your feet to walk with the lonely. Your voice to speak truth in love. The same mouth that could tear down is capable of healing. The same hands that could hurt are perfectly shaped for compassion.

You get to choose every day what kind of tool you’ll be—one that builds, or one that breaks. And spoiler: God’s way doesn’t just help others. It frees you too.

Personal Prayer

Lord, I give You all of me today—not just the shiny parts, but even the parts I usually keep hidden. Take my hands, my voice, my thoughts, my energy—everything. I don’t want to be used by sin, even in the small, sneaky ways it tries to slip in. I want to be useful to You. Shape me into an instrument that brings light, not harm. Help me choose You when no one’s watching, and when I fall short, remind me that grace still holds.

Use me today, Lord, for something good. Something that reflects You. Amen.
