Romans 6:1-2 – Today’s Verse for February 3, 2025 Monday

“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Romans 6:1-2 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Paul isn’t playing around here. He’s shutting down a dangerous misunderstanding of grace—the idea that since God forgives, we can just keep doing whatever we want. He’s saying, No way! That’s not how this works.

If we’ve truly died to sin through Christ, why would we keep living like we’re still chained to it? Imagine someone getting released from prison but choosing to sleep in a jail cell every night. It doesn’t make sense. Jesus didn’t just rescue us from the consequences of sin; He freed us from its power.

But let’s be real—it’s not about perfection. We still mess up. The difference is, sin isn’t our home anymore. Grace isn’t a loophole for rebellion; it’s the fuel for transformation. We don’t fight for victory—we fight from victory, because in Christ, we’re already new.

So, the question isn’t, How much can I get away with? but How can I live in the freedom He’s given me?

Personal Prayer

Father, thank You for Your incredible grace. I don’t ever want to take it for granted or use it as an excuse to keep holding on to sin. You have set me free, not just from sin’s punishment, but from its power over me. Help me to live like someone who has truly died to sin and been made new in Christ.

When I’m tempted to go back to old ways, remind me that I am no longer that person. Give me strength to walk in righteousness, not because I have to, but because I get to—because I love You. Shape my heart to desire holiness over comfort, obedience over compromise, and freedom over chains.

Jesus, thank You for making a way. Holy Spirit, lead me daily. And may my life reflect the grace that saved me, not as a license to sin, but as a testimony of Your transforming power.

Amen.
