Romans 5:3-4 – Today’s Verse for March 23, 2025 Sunday

And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope.
Romans 5:3-4 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

This verse is hard at first. Glory in suffering? That sounds impossible. No one wants pain. No one enjoys waiting through hard seasons. But Paul is showing us something deeper.

Suffering isn’t the end of the story. God uses it. He doesn’t waste our pain. When life gets heavy, we learn to endure. We keep going even when it’s hard. That’s perseverance. Perseverance shapes us. We grow stronger inside. Our faith gets real. We start to trust God in ways we never did before. That’s character.

And out of that trust comes hope. A hope that doesn’t break, even when everything else does. Because it’s not based on us. It’s based on God. And He’s steady. This verse isn’t telling us to pretend we’re okay. It’s saying God is doing something good, even in the middle of the hard stuff.

So if you’re going through something now, don’t give up. God is with you. He sees it. He’s working in it. And He’s leading you to hope. One day, you’ll look back and see how far He brought you. And you’ll know—it was Him all along.

Personal Prayer

Lord, sometimes the pain feels too much, and I don’t understand why things happen the way they do. But You say that even suffering has a purpose—that it can lead to strength, and strength can lead to hope. I want to believe that. Help me hold on when it’s hard. Help me trust You, even when I can’t see the end of the road.

Grow something good in me through this. Build a steady heart in me, one that doesn’t give up. Make me someone who walks through fire and still loves You. Thank You for staying close when everything feels heavy. I give You the hard parts. Use them to shape me, and lead me into hope. Amen.
