Romans 3:27-28 – Today’s Verse for July 8, 2025 Tuesday

“Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.“
—  Romans 3:27-28 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Boasting doesn’t belong in grace. If righteousness came by effort, we’d all have spiritual trophies lined up on our shelves. But God shut the door on bragging rights when He opened the door to justification by faith. Paul isn’t saying works are worthless—he’s saying they can’t save. They don’t unlock heaven. Only trust in what Christ already did.

Faith levels the playing field. Doesn’t matter if you’ve been a choir boy since birth or a mess until yesterday—salvation isn’t handed out based on your résumé. It’s a gift, not a paycheck.

God’s math is strange and beautiful: Christ’s perfection + our belief = righteousness. No add-ons. No fine print. That’s the scandal of grace. And the relief of it. The pressure’s off. The boasting’s gone. But the joy? That just got louder.

Personal Prayer

Lord, strip me of every ounce of pride that clings to my own efforts. Remind me that my worth isn’t built by what I do, but by what You’ve already done. Teach me to rest in Your finished work and rejoice in a grace that can’t be earned.

Keep my heart humble, my faith alive, and my eyes fixed on Jesus—the only reason I stand justified. Amen.
