Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good. — Romans 12:21 KJV
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. — Romans 12:21 NIV
Bible Verse Reflection
A friend would inform me that my primary objective when dealing with difficult situations or people is to not become the thing you hate. The conversation wasn’t about hatred for someone, but he was referring to the fact that we shouldn’t be evil, wicked or petty in our conduct and motives.
We can’t defeat the devil through dishonorable and shady methods. We conquer evil, but we force it back down to the depths of hell by doing what’s proper and infusing our lives with goodness. There is no better illustration of fighting evil through goodness than Jesus.

My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I pray to grace me with character as I stand up to those who are harsh and cynical towards me.
Help me to respond with a manner that reflects Your character and the Lordship of Christ. In Jesus mighty name I ask. Amen.
