Romans 12:10 – Today’s Verse for June 10, 2025 Tuesday

“Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.“
—  Romans 12:10 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

God is telling us to take a step back—and lift someone else up. Not because we’re trying to be polite or earn points, but because love actually looks like that. It shows up. It pays attention. It puts someone else’s good ahead of its own without needing a spotlight.

Devotion here isn’t a vague warm feeling—it’s a choice. A stubborn, daily commitment to value others not just equally, but above ourselves. That’s not weakness. That’s power under control. It’s grace with skin on.

And honoring others? It doesn’t mean pretending people are perfect. It means treating them like they matter to God—because they do. Even the difficult ones. Especially the difficult ones.

Honestly, this kind of love isn’t easy. But it is holy. And it’s the kind that changes families, friendships, churches, the whole messy world—one quiet act at a time.

Personal Prayer

Lord, teach me how to love like You love—with devotion that doesn’t quit and honor that puts others first. You see every heart, even the ones I struggle to understand. Help me see them the way You do. Soften my pride. Slow down my hurry. Remind me that relationships matter more than winning, being right, or getting ahead.

I don’t want to just talk about love—I want to live it. In my home, in my workplace, in the way I speak and listen and show up. Let Your Spirit shape me into someone who lifts others up, quietly and consistently, just like You’ve done for me. Amen.

She ran a small-town art studio before VerseForTheDay invited her to swap charcoal for chapters, yet paint still flecks her keyboard. Dawn finds her barefoot on the porch, swirling watercolors across a travel Bible, letting sunrise seep into the margins. Neighbors wave as she bikes to the farmers’ market, basket rattling with sunflowers and Psalms scribbled on kraft-paper price tags.Alona trusts that Scripture behaves like clay: press your palms in, and a vessel appears where empty air once lived. Afternoon workshops with foster teens prove the point; they mold hope into coffee mugs, then watch steam carry it forward.Diplomas? Only framed sketches of hands lifted in worship. Awards? A dog-eared gratitude list taped to her fridge. Open her reflections when cynicism scratches—she’ll slide a brush into your grip and show you light hiding in the smear of everyday color.
