The Lord executeth righteousness and judgment for all that are oppressed. — Psalm 103:6 KJV
The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed. — Psalm 103:6 NIV
Thought and Reflection
There are times in our world history when this promise of God appears to be an illusion even with ruthless governments, racial discrimination, and human injustice. Be that as it may, after some time, brutal states are crushed. Autocrats go to their graves. Moral anger replaces carelessness.
As Kingdom people, wouldn’t you say we are called to demonstrate the morals and ethics of God’s will? So we should reestablish the prayer Jesus taught us: “Your will be done, on earth as t is heaven!” And how about we also show God’s will in our families, fellowships, and churches.
My Prayer
Dear God, I realize you are significantly more repulsed than we are by the inhumanity that stains our world and crushes precious and blameless people. Father, show your will and discipline those countries who are savage in their bad form.
Convict us, your people, that we as individuals and as congregations should be places of justice, equity, reconciliation, and hope.
Use me, alongside my family in our congregation to show your righteousness and your justice toward those in our community who need freedom from abuse and who need somebody to help defend justice in every area of life. In Jesus name I ask. Amen.
