Proverbs 10:32– Today’s Verse for January 19, 2025 Sunday

“The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaketh frowardness.”
Proverbs 10:32 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

This verse is a reminder that what comes out of our mouths reflects what’s in our hearts. When we’re in tune with God’s wisdom, our words naturally align with what’s good, encouraging, and life-giving. It’s not about pretending to be perfect or always saying the “right” thing, but about letting God shape our hearts so that what we speak flows from His truth.

Think about it: how often do we pause to consider whether our words build others up or tear them down? It’s easy to let frustration or gossip slip out, but the righteous are mindful, seeking words that honor God and others.

This isn’t about a set of rules but about a transformation of character. The more we walk closely with Christ, the more our words reflect His grace. And when they don’t? There’s always room to repent, refocus, and keep growing. It’s not perfection He’s after—it’s progress.

So today, let’s ask ourselves: are our words reflecting the wisdom and love of God? If not, let’s lean on Him to help us recalibrate. After all, the way we speak can be one of the most tangible ways we shine His light.

Personal Prayer

Lord, thank You for the gift of Your Word that guides my heart and my lips. I confess that too often, my words fall short of reflecting Your love and wisdom. Forgive me for the times I’ve spoken carelessly, out of frustration or pride, and not with the grace You desire.

Father, I long for my speech to be pleasing to You. Teach me what is acceptable and good in Your sight. Let my words be kind, truthful, and uplifting, reflecting the righteousness You have called me to through Christ.

Holy Spirit, guard my tongue and remind me to pause before I speak. Help me to choose words that encourage others and glorify You. Shape my heart, so that what overflows from my mouth comes from a place of love, joy, and peace.

Thank You for Your patience with me as I grow in this area. May my words today—and every day—be a light that points others to You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
