Philippians 4:8 – Today’s Verse for July 22, 2025 Tuesday

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.“
—  Philippians 4:8 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Our minds are crowded places. We scroll, swipe, binge, replay. And most of what we let in? It doesn’t lift—it weighs. Paul’s not handing out a motivational poster here. He’s giving a filter. Not for Instagram—for your soul. If it’s not true, skip it. If it’s not pure, let it go. If it’s not lovely, don’t rent it space.

The verse isn’t telling us to ignore hard things. It’s telling us where to dwell. Dwell in the light, not the shadows. Dwell on the good that still exists in a broken world. Not because we’re naïve—but because what we think about, we become. You want peace? Then feed your thoughts what peace eats.

Personal Prayer

Lord, I’m tired of letting junk live in my head rent-free. The lies, the fear, the replays of everything I should’ve said or done differently. I want to obey this simple, impossible-sounding verse.

Train my thoughts like You trained the waves—calm, still, obedient to Your voice. Help me chase truth, crave beauty, and dwell on things that don’t rot my joy. If it doesn’t reflect You, take it out. I want a mind that makes room for peace. Amen.
