Reflection on Today's Verse
Love is one of the clearest signs that God is working in a believer’s heart. Paul did not only pray that the Thessalonians would have more knowledge, more strength, or more endurance. He prayed that the Lord would make them increase and abound in love.
That means love is not something we simply force from ourselves. It is something the Lord grows in us. As His grace works in our hearts, we become more patient, more forgiving, more thoughtful, and more willing to care for others.
Remember that love should not be limited only to the people who are easy to love. Paul said “toward all men.” That includes family, friends, strangers, difficult people, and even those who may not treat us the same way. God’s love in us is meant to overflow beyond comfort and convenience.
Personal Prayer
Lord, teach me to increase and abound in love. Help me not to love only when it is easy, but also when it requires patience, humility, and grace. Remove selfishness, bitterness, and pride from my heart, and make me more gentle toward others.
May Your love be seen in my words, my actions, and my attitude today. Help me care for those around me with sincerity, and remind me that the love You give is meant to overflow.
