Reflection on Today's Verse
The heart of godliness is not self-effort, religion, or human performance. It is Christ Himself. God was manifest in the flesh, revealed to the world, preached among the Gentiles, believed on by many, and received up into glory.
This verse points our eyes back to the greatness of the Lord Jesus Christ. The mystery of godliness is great because Christ is great. Our faith rests on who He is and what God has revealed through Him.
When life feels confusing, weak, or uncertain, the believer can stand firmly on this truth: Christ has been revealed, Christ has been preached, Christ has been believed on, and Christ is glorified.
Personal Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing the great mystery of godliness through the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank You that our faith is not built on man’s wisdom, but on Your truth.
Help me to keep my eyes on Christ today. Strengthen my heart to believe Your word, walk in godliness, and remember the glory of the One who was manifest in the flesh and received up into glory.
May my life reflect faith, gratitude, and reverence for the Lord Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
