Reflection

The admonition against seeking revenge or bearing grudges speaks to the destructive nature of harboring anger and resentment. Remember that holding onto grudges can poison our hearts and disrupt the peace within our communities. Forgiveness, on the other hand, brings healing and reconciliation. By letting go of past mistakes, we mirror God’s grace and mercy and allowing His love to flow through us.

We should therefore examine our hearts and actions. Are we holding onto grudges or seeking revenge in subtle ways? How can we better love those around us especially those who are difficult to love? This love is meant to be proactive and sacrificial requiring us to go the extra mile to demonstrate God’s love.

My Prayer

Lord, help me to live a life that mirrors Your character. Instill in me a love that is patient and kind, and not envious or boastful, not arrogant or rude.

I pray for the wisdom and courage to act on this command daily, making a positive impact on those around me. I pray that my love for others be a reflection of my love for You, drawing them closer to Your heart.

Thank You for being the perfect example of love and forgiveness. Teach me to grow in these virtues so I could bring the glory to Your name in all that I do.

In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
