Reflection on Today's Verse
Spiritual sleep is dangerous because time keeps moving, whether we are watchful or not. Paul is calling believers to wake up, not in fear, but in readiness. The night of this present world will not last forever, and our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed.
This verse encourages us to live with spiritual awareness. We should not waste our days in carelessness, bitterness, distractions, or works of darkness. Instead, we are called to walk as people who know the Lord, understand the times, and look forward to the blessed hope ahead.
Each day is an opportunity to live more faithfully, love more sincerely, and stand more firmly in the truth of God’s word.
Personal Prayer
Lord, thank You for reminding me that time is precious and that my salvation is nearer than when I first believed. Help me not to live carelessly or spiritually asleep. Awaken my heart to Your truth, strengthen my faith, and teach me to walk wisely in this present world.
Guide my thoughts, my words, and my actions today. Keep me from the distractions that pull me away from You, and help me live with purpose, watchfulness, and hope. Thank You for the promise of salvation and for the grace that keeps me standing.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
