Titus 1:15 – Today’s Verse for January 4, 2026 Sunday

Reflection on Today's Verse from Romans 2:5 - January 4th 2026

Reflection on Today's Verse

This verse is a heart-check, not a scorecard. It’s easy to think, “At least I’m not like them.” But Paul aims the spotlight inward. A “hard” heart is one that won’t bend… won’t admit need, won’t receive correction, won’t let God be right.

And “impenitent” doesn’t mean you’re not emotional enough. It means you won’t change your mind when truth confronts you. The scary part is how quiet it is: you can keep going, keep performing, keep talking spiritual… while the heart slowly stiffens.

Grace isn’t trying to crush you here. It’s trying to save you from becoming untouchable—unreachable—even by love. A soft heart listens quickly, confesses honestly, and lets God’s goodness lead it back to Him.

Personal Prayer

Father, I come to You honestly. If my heart has gotten hard through pride, pain, fear, or habit… soften me again. I don’t want to resist Your truth or defend myself when You’re calling me closer. Give me a tender conscience, a teachable spirit, and a quick “yes” to Your Word.

Search me, Lord. Show me where I’ve been stubborn. I lay it down right now. Thank You that Your goodness leads me to repentance, not shame. Thank You that in Christ, I’m not trying to earn Your love… I’m returning to it.

Help me walk today with humility, patience, and a clean heart. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
