Reflection on Today's Verse
You were “dead” in sins—no strength, no leverage, no “good enough” to bargain with. Yet He made you alive with Christ, and He didn’t forgive you halfway… He forgave all trespasses. Then it gets even clearer: the “handwriting of ordinances” (the record of debt, the charges against you) was taken out of the way and nailed to the cross.
So when your mind whispers, “You’ve failed again… God must be tired of you,” you can answer with truth: “That debt was already paid. It’s not on my record anymore.” This isn’t permission to live careless… it’s power to live free, grateful, and steady… because you’re not trying to earn what was already given.
Personal Prayer
Father, thank You that You made me alive together with Christ. Thank You that You have forgiven me all trespasses, fully and completely. When guilt tries to pull me back into fear and striving, remind me that the record that was against me was nailed to the cross.
Teach me to rest in what Jesus finished, not in what I can perform. Fill my heart with gratitude, and let that gratitude shape my words, my choices, and my day. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
