Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. — James 4:17 KJV
So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin. — James 4:17 NASB
Reflection
Our actions, or lack thereof, have spiritual implications. It is not enough to avoid wrongdoing; we must also pursue good deeds and justice.
We should pray for the strength and courage to act righteously, asking God to guide us in making decisions that align with His will. We can seek to be more mindful of opportunities to do good, understanding that our faith is demonstrated through our actions.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have known what is right and failed to do it. Cleanse my heart and renew my spirit, so I may walk in Your ways more faithfully. Empower me by Your Holy Spirit to be an instrument of Your peace and justice in this world.
Guide my thoughts, words, and deeds so that they reflect Your will and bring glory to Your name. May my life be a testament to Your love and grace, shining Your light in the darkness.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
