Galatians 6:10 – Today’s Verse for August 20, 2025 Wednesday

“As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.“
—  Galatians 6:10 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Grace doesn’t hand me a checklist; it hands me a new heart. So when Paul says, “as we have opportunity, do good to everyone—especially the household of faith,” I hear invitation, not obligation. Opportunity is slippery. It looks like interruptions, awkward needs, the text I’d rather ignore. And the “especially” isn’t tribalism; it’s training. If I can’t bear with the people who share my Lord, how will I love the neighbor who doubts Him? I don’t wake up thinking, prove yourself to God, anymore. The cross already settled that. I wake up asking, Where does the finished work want to spill over today?

On my worst days I hoard time like it’s oxygen. Then the Spirit presses, quiet but heavy: What does love look like for the next ten minutes? Sometimes it’s cash. Sometimes a ride. Sometimes silence. Doing good doesn’t buy me favor; it spends the favor I already have. Christ did good to me when I was His enemy—how small is my excuse now? The church becomes a rehearsal room for patience and repair, so the song sounds right in the street. No scoreboard. Just overflow.

Personal Prayer

Father, thank You that in Christ I’m already accepted. Open my eyes to real opportunities today—small, ordinary, inconvenient ones. Loosen my grip on comfort and hurry. Give me courage to do good to all and special tenderness toward Your people.

Guard my heart from cynicism; make my mercy quick and my ego slow. Let Your finished work move my hands. In Jesus’ name, amen.
