Reflection on Today's Verse
Your words can either leak poison or deliver grace. “Edifying” means your speech should leave people stronger, not smaller. And “minister grace” means your words can actually be a channel of God’s kindness—comfort, clarity, correction with gentleness, truth with love.
A good quick test before you talk:
Will this build up?
Is this needed right now?
Will this sound like grace when it lands?
Personal Prayer
Father, thank You for Thy grace toward me. Set a watch over my mouth, and guide my words today. When I am tempted to speak in the flesh… sharp, careless, or proud… help me to pause and choose what edifieth.
Teach me to speak what is good, what is true, and what will minister grace unto the hearers. Make my speech a blessing and not a burden. I thank Thee for forgiving me for Christ’s sake, and I ask for strength to walk in that same grace toward others. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
