Ephesians 4:15 – Today’s Verse for March 13, 2025 Thursday

“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.“
Ephesians 4:15 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Truth and love must go together. Without love, truth can be harsh. Without truth, love can be weak. God calls us to speak truth with love so we can grow in Him.

Sometimes truth is hard to hear. It can challenge us, convict us, and even hurt at first. But when truth comes from love, it helps us grow. Think of a good friend who tells you when you’re going the wrong way. They don’t do it to shame you. They do it because they care. That’s how God wants us to speak to one another.

Love does not mean staying silent when someone is walking toward danger. It means telling them the truth with kindness, patience, and wisdom. Jesus showed this over and over. He never hid the truth, but He always spoke it with love. Even when He corrected people, He did it to bring them closer to God.

This verse also reminds us that truth in love isn’t just for others—it’s for us too. We need to receive truth with open hearts, even when it’s uncomfortable. God uses it to shape us into the image of Christ.

If we want to grow in faith, we must hold on to both truth and love. One without the other is not enough. Ask God to help you speak with love and listen with humility. That’s how we become more like Jesus.

Personal Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your truth and for Your love. You never separate the two. You correct me, but always with grace. You guide me, but always with kindness. Help me to do the same.

Teach me to speak truth with love, not with pride or impatience. When I need to correct someone, give me wisdom to do it gently. When I need to hear the truth, soften my heart to receive it. Keep me from using truth as a weapon or love as an excuse to stay silent.

Make me more like Jesus. Let my words build others up, not tear them down. Let my heart be honest and kind, firm and compassionate. Fill me with Your Spirit so that everything I say and do reflects Your love.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Neighbors wave as she bikes to the farmers’ market, basket rattling with sunflowers and Psalms scribbled on kraft-paper price tags.Alona trusts that Scripture behaves like clay: press your palms in, and a vessel appears where empty air once lived. Afternoon workshops with foster teens prove the point; they mold hope into coffee mugs, then watch steam carry it forward.Diplomas? Only framed sketches of hands lifted in worship. Awards? A dog-eared gratitude list taped to her fridge. Open her reflections when cynicism scratches—she’ll slide a brush into your grip and show you light hiding in the smear of everyday color.
