“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.“
— Ephesians 4:15 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
Truth without love is a hammer—accurate, but it bruises. Love without truth is a pillow—soft, but it smothers. Paul doesn’t ask us to pick one. He asks us to hold both. Speak truth. But do it like someone who remembers they’ve needed grace too.
That’s how we grow—not just into nicer people, but into Christ Himself. Every honest word wrapped in love shapes us to look more like Him. This isn’t about being right. It’s about becoming rooted. Not louder. Deeper. Not sharper. Kinder. Jesus isn’t after fact-checkers. He’s after image-bearers who build, not break.
Personal Prayer
Lord Jesus, teach me to speak truth without pride and love without fear. When I open my mouth, let grace lead. When I stand for what’s right, keep my heart soft. I don’t want to win arguments—I want to reflect You.
Help me grow—not just in knowledge, but in kindness, courage, and humility. Shape my words so they heal, not hurt. Make me more like You, the Head I follow. Amen.
