Ephesians 1:17 – Today’s Verse for June 8, 2025 Sunday

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him.“
—  Ephesians 1:17 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

This verse is about Paul praying that God would give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation—not so we can feel spiritually superior, but so we can actually know Him. Not know about Him. Know Him. Like, heart-level, soul-deep, “walk with Me through the fire” kind of knowing. That kind of relationship doesn’t come from head knowledge or religious routine—it comes when God Himself opens our eyes to who He really is.

Remember that we don’t have to figure out God on our own. He wants to be known, and He’s the one who makes that possible. Wisdom and revelation aren’t prizes for the holy elite—they’re gifts for anyone hungry enough to ask. If your faith feels dry or distant, maybe you don’t need more willpower or more theology. Maybe you just need to ask Him, “Show me who You are.” He loves that prayer.

Personal Prayer

Lord, I don’t want to just know facts about You—I want to know You. Not in theory, but in the real, raw places of my life. Give me that spirit of wisdom and revelation Paul talked about. Open the eyes of my heart so I can see You clearly—Your heart, Your voice, Your presence right here with me.

Teach me to stop striving to figure You out and start trusting You to reveal Yourself. Peel back the layers of fear, doubt, and distraction that keep me blind. I want to walk with You, not just talk about You. Make Yourself real to me in ways that change how I think, how I love, how I live. Amen.
