But if from thence thou shalt seek the Lord thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul. — Deuteronomy 4:29 KJV
But from there you will seek the Lord your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. — Deuteronomy 4:29 NASB
Reflection
It is easy to become distracted by worldly concerns, yet this scripture encourages us to actively pursue a relationship with God. Seeking the Lord implies a deliberate and sustained effort to connect with Him through prayer, reading His Word, and living according to His commandments.
The verse emphasizes the importance of sincerity in our quest for God. It calls for a seeking that is not half-hearted but involves our entire being—our heart and soul. This means our emotions, intellect, and will are all engaged in our relationship with God. It is a call to love God with every part of our existence, reflecting the greatest commandment Jesus affirmed in the Gospels: to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength
My Prayer
Lord, help us to seek You with all our heart and soul. Remove any distractions that pull us away from You, and grant us the desire to pursue You earnestly. Thank You for the promise that we will find You when we seek You. Draw us closer to Your presence, and transform our lives through our relationship with You. Amen.
