Reflection on Today's Verse
Change in the Christian life doesn’t begin with self-reform… it begins with redemption already accomplished. Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed once and fully. Because of that, you are not defined by the “old leaven” of your past, your habits, or your failures. You are already made new in Him.
Paul’s call is not to earn holiness, but to live in alignment with who you already are. When old patterns fall away, it’s not because of pressure or fear… it’s because grace has given you a new identity. Growth becomes a response to love, not an attempt to qualify for it.
Personal Prayer
Father God, thank You that Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us—once and for all. Thank You that my standing with You is settled, not fragile. I am not trying to become new; I am new because of what Jesus has done.
Help me to walk in that truth today. Where old ways still linger, let them fall away naturally as I rest in Your grace. Teach me to live from my identity in Christ, not from striving or guilt.
I trust the finished work of the cross. I rejoice in the freedom You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
