Colossians 1:27-28 – Today’s Verse for September 5, 2025 Friday

“To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory: Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.“
—   Colossians 1:27-28 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Christ in you—the hope of glory. Paul says it like a secret that changes everything. Not glory far off, some distant heaven you limp toward, but glory planted inside you right now. The mystery isn’t about religion or effort or climbing ladders. It’s about Christ Himself alive in frail human clay, carrying us toward fullness we couldn’t dream up.

I think about how often I trade this mystery for cheap substitutes. I measure myself by what I achieve, how people see me, or whether I’ve “done enough.” But Paul reminds us: maturity doesn’t come from polishing the outside. It comes from letting Christ be the substance within. Teaching, warning, striving—Paul did all that with one aim: to present people complete in Christ. Not complete in themselves. Complete in Him.

And that raises the real question: what would it look like if we actually believed this? If Christ in us was enough? If glory wasn’t a finish line we run toward, but a Presence already here, reshaping us, whispering through our weakness? That changes how you wake up, how you carry burdens, how you see yourself. Not as a project to fix, but a vessel of a mystery too vast to measure.

Personal Prayer

Lord, I don’t want to chase shadows when the substance is already here. Teach me to rest in Christ alive within me. Strip away the lies that say I am incomplete unless I prove myself.

Fill me with the courage to live like Your glory is not far away, but breathing inside. Make my life a witness of this mystery—that Christ is enough, and in Him I am whole. Amen.
