Reflection

The idea of being reconciled is pretty heavy. It’s like when you’ve had a massive fallout with someone—think of the biggest argument you’ve ever had, the kind where you’re not just avoiding eye contact, but actively contemplating moving to another country so you never have to see that person again. And then, out of nowhere, they show up at your door with a peace offering and you both manage to patch things up. Except in this case, it’s God doing all the heavy lifting. We were the ones who messed up, and yet, He’s the one who reaches out to fix the relationship. And how does He do it? Through Christ’s physical body—His death on the cross. That’s God going above and beyond, like sending an apology note written in gold ink, on the fanciest paper you’ve ever seen, with a hundred dollar bill tucked inside just for good measure.

But here’s where it gets even crazier. He doesn’t just reconcile us and then keep us at arm’s length like, “Okay, we’re cool now, but let’s not get too close.” Nope, He takes it a step further and presents us holy, without blemish, and free from accusation. It’s like the ultimate makeover, except instead of just a new haircut and wardrobe, you’re getting an entirely new identity. All those things you thought disqualified you from being loved by God? Gone. Just poof.

I think that’s something we can’t gloss over. God doesn’t just tolerate us—He actually delights in us. And not because we’ve somehow managed to pull ourselves together and become these shiny, perfect beings on our own. No, it’s because Jesus did the hard work, and now we get to stand before God looking like a million bucks, all because of what He’s done.

So, the next time you’re feeling a bit down on yourself, remember that in God’s eyes, you’re spotless. That’s not just good news; it’s the best news. And honestly, if that doesn’t make you want to do a little happy dance, you might need to check your pulse!

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, help me to truly grasp what it means to be presented before You without blemish. When I feel weighed down by my flaws and past mistakes, remind me that in Your eyes, I am made new. Teach me to live in the freedom You’ve given me, no longer shackled by guilt or fear, but walking confidently in the identity You’ve bestowed upon me.

Please help me to reflect this amazing grace in my life, that others might see Your love through me. I pray that the reality of Your reconciliation be an enduring source of joy and strength in my heart, guiding my actions and shaping my relationships.

Thank You, Lord, for never giving up on me, for reaching out when I was lost, and for loving me more than I could ever imagine.

In the mighty name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
