Reflection on Today's Verse
Giving Christ the preeminence does not mean that every day will become easy or that every question will immediately be answered. It means we recognize His authority, trust what He has accomplished, and allow His truth to shape our priorities. Because He is “the firstborn from the dead,” our hope rests in a risen Savior who has already conquered death.
Today, we can ask ourselves a simple but searching question: Does Christ merely have a place in my life, or does He have the first place?
Personal Prayer
Lord, help me not to allow the pressures, desires, and distractions of this world to take the place that belongs to Christ. Teach me to order my thoughts, decisions, priorities, and daily life according to Your truth. May Christ be honored in the way I speak, work, serve, and treat others.
Keep my heart focused on Him, and help me remember that my confidence is not in myself but in what He has accomplished for me. In Jesus Christ’s name, Amen.
