Reflection on Today's Verse
The law could reveal sin, expose weakness, and show man his need, but it could never make a sinner righteous before God. Christ did what the law could never do. Through His death and resurrection, He fully accomplished the righteousness that God requires.
This verse turns your eyes away from self and fixes them on the Lord Jesus Christ. You do not need to live under the weight of trying to earn God’s favor by performance, religious effort, or fleshly striving. In Christ, righteousness is not a reward for the best performer. It is given to the one who believes. That is grace. That is rest. That is the good news.
So today, when your heart is tempted to measure your standing by your failures or your efforts, remember this: your righteousness before God is not found in yourself. It is found in Christ alone. He is enough. His work is finished. Faith does not cling to your consistency, but to His.
Personal Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You that righteousness is not found in my own effort, but in Christ alone. Thank You that the Lord Jesus fulfilled what I never could, and that through faith in Him I am accepted before You. Help me to rest in His finished work and not return to fear, striving, or confidence in the flesh.
When my heart feels weak or condemned, remind me that my standing is in Christ, not in my performance. Let this truth give me peace, joy, and confidence today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
