“But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.“
— Acts 20:24 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
Paul didn’t flinch. He knew pain was waiting for him, but his eyes weren’t on comfort—they were locked on purpose. That’s bold. Not reckless, not dramatic. Just deeply surrendered. He had one goal: to finish well. Not with trophies, applause, or even safety—but with joy. And what was his joy? Preaching grace. Not religion. Not rules. Grace.
Most people spend their lives avoiding risk. Paul charged straight into it because he wasn’t trying to protect his life—he was pouring it out like an offering. That’s what happens when the gospel isn’t just what you preach but what you breathe. His joy wasn’t the absence of trouble; it was the presence of meaning.
If you’re wondering what your life is worth, maybe the better question is: what are you willing to lose it for? Paul found his answer in the grace of God. Nothing else moved him. Nothing else mattered more.
Personal Prayer
Lord, teach me how to live like Paul—unmoved by fear, untouched by pride. Give me courage to stop chasing comfort and start chasing purpose.
Let Your grace be the reason I get up, the message I carry, the fire that won’t go out in me. I don’t want to just survive life—I want to finish it with joy, doing what You put me here to do. Keep me focused, even when the road gets hard.
Teach me to be humble, even when the world claps. And remind me that there’s nothing more valuable than testifying to Your grace. Amen.
