Thought and Reflection

People who are older aren’t treated as well in Western society like they used to be, and “the older generation” are revered across other countries. The Bible frequently reminds us of the need to be awed by those who are godly as well as those who have come before us.

It doesn’t matter if the father in this story is the father who physically resides with the student who is receiving the instruction or was the teacher of the student who sought knowledge, the principle remains the same.

We can learn a lot and gain by listening to the advice of people who have been serving God for a long time and proved to be reliable and wise.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am grateful for the wise people in my life who have shared their knowledge and experience with me.

Help them understand how much I value their commitment to the love of God and their guidance to me. Please help me to be a model for the people who come after me. In Jesus Name, I pray. Amen.
