Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. — Ephesians 4:26-27 KJV
“In your anger do not sin”: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. — Ephesians 4:26-27 NIV
Thought and Reflection
Pent-up anger is like a pyrotechnics just waiting to happen. Sooner or later, anger that has been bottled up will explode either in our own lives or in the lives of others. Jesus instructed us on forgiveness and reconcile. It is important to deal with anger. If not, Satan could make use of it to hurt us and other people within our own lives.
Don’t allow him to gain the chance to have a foothold in your life. If you offer him an inch then he’ll get the equivalent of a mile.
My Prayer
God in Heaven, I thank You for your ability to be angry with the things that hurt You. Help me channel this anger in ways that will be productive and help me to be repulsed at evil.
I ask you to stir my heart towards reconciliation, particularly when the anger is directed at any of Your children. Through the power of Your Holy Spirit, guide me to forgive like I have been forgiven by You. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
