Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. — 2 Corinthians 12:10 KJV
That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. — 2 Corinthians 12:10 NIV
Bible Verse Reflection
The key to understanding this passage is to appreciate the significance of this little phrase: FOR CHRIST’S SAKE. We are saved by faith in Him and to His glory and for His glory, we must strive to be gracious in sharing the glorious gospel of Christ with those who hurt us and bring us pain and troubles.
In the name of Christ, we must be content with all hardships, sufferings and trials in the knowledge that He does not just give us the strength we need to endure, but also reminds us that the pains and sufferings of the moment aren’t worth comparing to the glory to come.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father in Heaven, I ask that I can discover the joy of everything for the sake of Christ. Help me to become more aware of my human weaknesses so that I can be provided each day. Through the strength of Your powerful power, to ensure that Christ will be honored in my life to His glory and praise. Amen.
