Reflection on Today's Verse
Salvation begins with God’s grace, not our effort. Before we ever tried to be worthy, before we could offer anything good, God’s purpose was already settled in Christ Jesus.
This is a comforting truth for the believer: we do not stand before God because of our performance, discipline, emotions, or religious record. We stand because Christ has saved us and called us according to His own purpose and grace.
When we remember this, pride loses its power, fear loses its grip, and peace becomes possible. Grace tells us that our hope is not in how strong we are, but in how faithful Christ is.
Personal Prayer
Lord God, thank You for saving me and calling me, not according to my works, but according to Your purpose and grace in Christ Jesus.
Help me rest in the finished work of Christ and not in my own effort or performance. Teach my heart to trust Your grace more deeply each day. When I feel weak, remind me that my standing is secure in Christ. When I feel proud, bring me back to humility and gratitude.
May my life reflect the grace You have given, and may I walk worthy of the calling I have received in Christ Jesus. Amen.
