Reflection on Today's Verse
God isn’t asking you to “clean yourself up” so you can earn His love. He’s reminding you who you already are in Christ: unleavened… accepted, washed, set apart. The call to “purge out the old leaven” is not a threat… it’s an invitation to live consistent with your new identity.
Old leaven is anything that quietly spreads… one tolerated habit, one hidden compromise, one bitterness you keep feeding. It doesn’t stay small. But grace gives you power to deal with it honestly, without shame and without pretending. Because Christ our passover is sacrificed for us… your standing with God is anchored in what Jesus did, not in how perfectly you performed today.
Personal Prayer
Father, thank You that Christ our Passover has been sacrificed for us. Thank You that my acceptance is not built on my record, but on His finished work.
Help me purge out the old leaven… anything I keep tolerating that doesn’t belong in a life You’ve made new. Give me courage to be honest, strength to turn, and a clean heart that loves what You love. Lead me in Your goodness, and let my life reflect the truth that I am Yours. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
