Reflection on Today's Verse
Hope isn’t a mood you try to maintain; it’s a work God performs in you “through the power of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 15:13 puts the sequence in order: believe → be filled with joy and peace → abound in hope. When faith rests in Christ’s finished work, the Spirit stabilizes your inner life with joy that doesn’t depend on outcomes and peace that doesn’t evaporate under pressure. That settled heart becomes the soil where hope keeps multiplying.
If your hope feels thin today, don’t chase a feeling—return to the object of your faith. Preach the gospel to your own soul: you are justified by faith, accepted in the Beloved, and kept by His power. Let that truth quiet the noise. As joy and peace take their rightful place, hope will rise—not as a burst of optimism, but as a steady current carrying you forward.
Personal Prayer
Father of mercies and God of hope, fill my heart today with Your joy and Your peace as I believe Your Word. Turn my eyes from what I can control to what Christ has finished. By the Holy Ghost, cause me to abound in hope that endures disappointments, outlasts delays, and shines in dark places.
Anchor my thoughts in Your promises, guard my spirit with Your peace, and make my life a quiet testimony to Your faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
