Romans 15:2 – Today’s Verse for September 11, 2025 Thursday

“Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.“
—  Romans 15:2 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

“For their good. To edification.” Not applause. Not image control. I used to treat love like crowd management—keep everyone smiling and I’m “Christlike,” right? Then the verse cuts through the noise: build them. Lumber and nails, not confetti. Truth spoken gently. Patience that doesn’t keep a scoreboard. A ride across town. A bill covered quietly. A hard “no” when flattery would only rot the beams. Ask yourself: does this help them stand taller in Christ or just like me more? Grace unhooks the need to be impressive. He filled my cup; I can pour without begging for a refill. That’s freedom. That’s edification.

Personal Prayer

Father, make me a builder today. Put one neighbor on my heart and show me the small, costly good that strengthens them. Cut the strings of approval-seeking. Give me a true word, a steady hand, and the courage to act. Let the comfort I’ve received in Christ become scaffolding for someone else. Amen.
