“Whom I have sent unto you for the same purpose, that ye might know our affairs, and that he might comfort your hearts.“
— Ephesians 6:22 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
Paul wasn’t just sending Tychicus to drop off a letter. He was sending a person. A real, flesh-and-blood believer—someone with a voice, a heart, a presence. That’s what grace does. It doesn’t hide behind cold updates or distant theology. It shows up. It walks into the room with the full weight of love and truth behind it.
He didn’t say, “I wrote this to keep you informed” and leave it there. He sent someone to comfort them. Why? Because even in right doctrine—even in knowing the mystery revealed—we still get tired. We still wrestle with fear. We still get lonely.
Grace doesn’t just teach. It touches.
I’ve met believers who know the doctrine inside out but can’t seem to make it real for someone else. And I’ve met others who walk into the room, say nothing, and somehow you just know Christ is alive in them. That’s Tychicus. That’s what Paul modeled. That’s what grace looks like when it walks on two feet.
So if the gospel is true—and it is—then maybe we don’t just preach comfort. We deliver it. With presence. With people. With purpose.
Who are you showing up for?
Who are you sent to?
Personal Prayer
Lord, thank You for the ones You’ve sent into my life—people who didn’t just speak truth, but stayed long enough to let it heal. Make me that kind of messenger.
Let me carry more than information. Let me carry comfort. And if there’s someone hurting today—someone barely holding on—show me how to show up. Not with empty words, but with the kind of grace that reaches deep. Amen.
