“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.“
— Romans 8:11 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
That’s not poetry. That’s not a metaphor to make you feel warm inside. That’s literal power—resurrection power—inside you right now.
Think about it. The same Spirit that went into a tomb where the mangled, lifeless body of Jesus lay… and made Him breathe again… is living in you. Not visiting. Not checking in occasionally like a distant relative. Dwelling. Staying. Refusing to leave.
And we still walk around as if we’re running on low battery. We drag our feet through the day, like life is just something to survive until heaven. But God says His Spirit can quicken—make alive—our mortal bodies. Not just someday in the future when we’re raised, but here, now. That includes strength where there’s weakness. Clarity where there’s confusion. Courage where there’s fear.
If He can break death, He can break whatever’s been holding you down. If He can make a dead heart beat, He can revive one that’s numb, burned out, or exhausted.
So maybe the question isn’t, “Do you have enough faith?” Maybe it’s, “Do you even realize Who you’re carrying?”
Personal Prayer
Father, remind me what I’m holding inside. I forget that Your Spirit isn’t a small spark but the same power that pulled Jesus out of the grave.
Let that life flood every tired part of me. Wake up what’s numb. Strengthen what’s weak. Fill every corner of my heart with the reality that I’m not just surviving—I’m alive in You. Amen.
