“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.“
— Galatians 2:20 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
That’s not poetry. That’s reality. Paul isn’t being dramatic—he’s being dead honest. His old self, with all its ego, striving, and self-righteous hustle, was nailed to the cross with Jesus. And the person that came down from that cross? Not Paul 2.0. Not a cleaned-up version. A completely new creation powered by Christ Himself.
That changes everything. It means your worth isn’t built on performance. Your identity isn’t stitched together by how well you behave or how often you fail. You’re not dragging around your past like a backpack full of bricks. You’re free. Alive. But not on your own steam. Christ is now the One living in you, breathing through your lungs, moving through your days.
And this isn’t some mystical concept—it’s gritty and practical. When you face rejection, Christ doesn’t walk out. When you’re tempted to go back to the old you, He reminds you that old you is gone. This isn’t a life of self-improvement. It’s a life of surrender. The life you now live? It’s by faith in the One who loved you so much He died to make you new.
So if you’re tired of trying to be good enough—good. That’s exactly where the gospel gets to work.
Personal Prayer
Lord Jesus, Thank You for taking the old me to the cross. I’ve spent too much time trying to fix what You already buried.
Help me stop reaching for what You already put to death. Live Your life through me. Teach me to trust, to breathe, to walk by faith—not by fear, pride, or pressure.
When I forget who I am, remind me that I’m Yours. And when I start striving again, bring me back to grace. This life isn’t mine anymore—it’s Yours. So take it. Use it. Fill it. Amen.
