Psalm 112:5 – Today’s Verse for February 8, 2025 Saturday

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
1 Corinthians 2:14 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

You ever wonder why some people just don’t “get it” when you talk about faith? Like, you could explain the love of God, the beauty of grace, the depth of Scripture—but it’s like speaking a different language. That’s exactly what Paul is talking about in this verse.

It’s not that people are unintelligent; it’s that spiritual truth requires spiritual eyes. Without the Holy Spirit, the gospel sounds ridiculous—like a fairytale, a crutch, or wishful thinking. But when God opens your heart, suddenly, it’s like the lights turn on. What was once foolish now feels like the deepest truth in the universe.

This verse reminds me to be patient. We can’t argue people into the kingdom. We can explain, reason, and love, but ultimately, only the Spirit of God can make the truth real to someone’s heart. It’s a humbling reminder that faith isn’t just about intellect—it’s about revelation.

So, if you’re frustrated because someone isn’t seeing what you see, don’t lose heart. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep planting seeds. God is the one who makes them grow. 🌱

Personal Prayer

Father, I come before You with a humble heart, knowing that without Your Spirit, I am blind to the depth of Your truth. Thank You for opening my eyes, for drawing me near, and for making what once seemed like foolishness into the foundation of my life.

Lord, I lift up those who do not yet understand—those who wrestle with doubt, who see faith as weakness, who cannot grasp the beauty of Your love. Soften their hearts, Holy Spirit. Speak to them in ways beyond my words. Let them encounter You in a way that no argument could ever convince.

And for me, Lord, keep me from pride. Remind me that I, too, was once in darkness. Make me patient, gentle, and full of grace as I share Your truth. Let my life reflect Your love so clearly that others begin to wonder, “What is it that they see?”

Thank You for Your wisdom, Your patience, and Your mercy. Keep me close to You always.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
