Hebrews 11:3 – Today’s Verse for November 4, 2024 Monday

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.”
Hebrews 11:3 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

Faith here isn’t just about belief; it’s about this deep-rooted knowing that there’s more to reality than meets the eye. This verse nudges us into seeing the physical world as the result of God’s invisible word, like God set the ultimate, cosmic “print job” in motion, and voilà, the universe appears. You know how it feels when you press “print,” and the page comes out with something that was just floating around on your screen? Yeah, sort of like that but on an intergalactic scale.

Well, let’s be real. If faith can grasp that the very fabric of existence was woven from nothing but divine command, then surely faith can handle our day-to-day worries, right? God didn’t need raw materials, a hammer, or even a blueprint—just a word. And if that word could form galaxies, I think it’s safe to say it can handle our grocery bills, the leaky faucet, or even that awkward family Thanksgiving.

So, this verse invites us to trust not just in what we can hold or see but in the unseen voice that called all of existence into being. It’s like God saying, “I got this. And you? You’re in good hands.”

Personal Prayer

Heavenly Father, Creator of all things seen and unseen, I come to You in awe of Your power and wisdom. When I read that You formed the universe from what is invisible, I’m reminded that You are beyond my understanding, beyond what I can see or grasp. Increase my faith, Lord, to trust in what I cannot see and to know that You hold everything together by the power of Your word.

Help me to remember that You spoke, and galaxies came to be—that everything around me began by Your command alone. Let this mystery of creation give me confidence in Your presence and Your purpose, even when I can’t see the outcome.

Teach me to live by faith, just as the writer of Hebrews reminds us, and to rest in the knowledge that the unseen world is as real as what I touch and see. Thank You, God, for being a Creator I can trust, for holding all things together, including me. In Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.
