Psalm 107:31 – Today’s Verse for October 30, 2024 Wednesday

“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!”
Psalm 107:31 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

The psalmist here goes big on gratitude, inviting us to thank God for two things: His “unfailing love” and His “wonderful deeds.” Now, we’re not talking about a polite, golf-clap kind of thanks here. This is a full-hearted, shout-it-from-the-rooftops thanks. Why? Because God’s love is unfailing—it’s not a “maybe” love, or a “when it’s convenient” love. It’s consistent, relentless, the kind that sticks around when everyone else bails. And His wonderful deeds? Well, they’re the big and little miracles—the “I can’t believe that happened” kind and the “Wow, I got through the day” kind.

In other words, this passage is like the Bible’s way of saying, “Hey, remember all those times you thought you’d be toast, but you somehow made it through? Yeah, that’s God.” It’s a reminder to pause, look back, and recognize the divine fingerprints on the timeline of our lives. The psalmist’s call for thanks isn’t about perfect words or being overly poetic—it’s about noticing, naming, and nodding upward with a grin of gratitude.

Personal Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for Your endless love and the miracles You weave into my life, big and small. I know I don’t always stop to recognize Your hand in my everyday moments, but today, I want to pause and just say thank You. Thank You for the times You lifted me when I was down, for the unexpected blessings, and even for the challenges that stretched me and drew me closer to You.

Help me to live with a heart of gratitude, not just for the spectacular moments, but for Your quiet, faithful presence every single day.

In Jesus mighty name I pray, Amen.
