“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.“
— 2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
Fear loves to shout. It exaggerates, distorts, paralyzes. But it doesn’t come from God. What God gives is something quieter but stronger—power, love, a sound mind. These don’t panic. They don’t run. They don’t spin worst-case scenarios.
Power means you don’t have to crumble. Not because you’re invincible, but because He is. Love means you can respond to chaos without becoming part of it. And a sound mind? That’s the quiet center in the storm, the ability to think clearly even when everything around you is loud.
God doesn’t fuel anxiety. He equips. The Holy Spirit doesn’t hand you dread. He hands you a backbone, a heart, and peace that thinks straight.
So when fear knocks, remember—you’re not built for retreat. You’re built for courage, compassion, and clarity.
Personal Prayer
Lord, remind me today that fear isn’t my master. You didn’t design me to shrink back, but to stand firm.
Give me the courage to walk in Your power, the grace to love when it’s hard, and the wisdom to think with a clear, steady mind.
When I’m overwhelmed, settle my spirit. When I’m doubting, speak louder than my fear. I trust You more than the noise. Amen.
