“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.“
— 2 Corinthians 5:21 KJV
Reflection on Today's Verse
He knew no sin—and God made Him sin for me. That sentence knocks the wind out of my pride. This isn’t a tune-up; it’s a swap. My wreckage draped on Christ, His spotless record zipped onto me. Not “better behavior,” but the righteousness of God—on a sinner who keeps losing the plot. How do you bargain with a gift like that? You don’t. You stand there stunned, pockets empty, and let grace do the talking.
So I quit trying to audition for a part I already have. The verdict landed: righteous in Him, not in me. Why keep living like I’m still on trial? The cross silences the prosecution, and suddenly I’m free to love boldly, confess quickly, and stop managing my image like a fragile brand. Union with Christ means my worst day can’t undo His best work. Faith rests. Then it moves—because the job’s finished.
Personal Prayer
Father, thank You for placing my sin on Your sinless Son and placing His righteousness on me. Teach my heart to stop negotiating and start trusting.
Let the finality of the cross shape my minutes today—clean conscience, open hands, quick repentance, fearless love. Keep me aware that I am in Christ and Christ is in me. Amen.
