For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him. — 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 KJV
For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. He died for us so that, whether we are awake or asleep, we may live together with him. — 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10 NIV
Thought and Reflection
God did not save us to condemn. He saved us to bring us home to Him, so that we can enjoy His gracious presence forever. God wants us to be in His presence. That’s salvation.
When our hearts belong to Him, He won’t let anything stop us from being in His presence. All of us are headed home to our Father in order that we may live together with Him.
My Prayer
Thank you, Loving Father for the faith I have in Jesus. I know that regardless of whether I live to see Jesus return or not, my future with You is secure because it is tied to Jesus victory over death.
I am grateful that You have given me a place to call home, and you are my ultimate future. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
