Bible Verse Reflection
Unity and harmony aren’t by chance! They are the result of intent and commitment. More than mere actions they are dictated by God. How can we achieve peace and harmony?
Peter insists that we be committed to three things within the “church” lifestyle — 1.) actively participate in sharing the sorrows and worries of those grieving 2.) respect each other as a healthy family loves and cherishes each member; and, 3) demonstrate compassion instead of arrogance when dealing with the shortcomings of others who cause us pain, and recognizing that we are susceptible to hurting the people we love.
My Prayer
Heavenly Father, I admit that I’ve allowed my oversensitive self get hurt and have been irritated when my sisters and brothers in Christ did not treat me the way I thought I deserve. I am aware that Jesus was treated with such disrespect and with shame by the people who he created, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise when things don’t always go as planned for me.
Lord, aid me in knowing how to confront anyone who has hurt me by an honest confrontation and when to ignore the hurt and figure out an avenue to serve people who are wounded. Father, allow me to serve as a vessel for your peace harmony, and grace. In the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.
