1 Corinthians 8:8-9 – Today’s Verse for April 15, 2025 Tuesday

“But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.“
1 Corinthians 8:8-9 KJV

Reflection on Today's Verse

God’s not grading us on snacks or menus. Whether you skip the meat or enjoy the feast, it doesn’t make you holier. What matters is how your choices affect others. We might be free in Christ, but freedom without love turns into carelessness. You can win a debate and still lose a soul if you’re not watching where your footsteps lead.

So, this isn’t about food at all—it’s about heart. If what you’re doing trips someone else up, even if it’s technically okay, it’s worth rethinking. Grace says, “I’m free,” but love whispers, “But I won’t hurt you with it.” That’s the kind of faith that builds up, not just shows off.

Personal Prayer

Lord, thank You for the freedom I have in You—real, unearned, and full of grace. But help me not to use it like a badge or a weapon. Teach me to care more about love than being right. If my choices ever cause someone else to stumble, show me how to lay them down without pride or complaint.

Give me eyes to see beyond myself. Give me a heart that values people over preferences. Remind me that spiritual maturity isn’t about knowledge, but kindness. I want to live in a way that draws others closer to You—not just with words, but with how I walk.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
