Thought and Reflection
We got a glimpse of Solomon’s magnificent dedication speech for God’s Temple within the Old Testament. It is amazing that Paul affirms that God has made His home within us by the power of His Spirit in the same way as He had taken up His residence within His Jerusalem Temple.
The acceptance of God to be His exclusive house was a huge cost for Him through the sacrifice of His son! How can we not reverence His holy presence in us? What can we do to live an exemplary life in response to His mercy?
My Prayer
Dear God, cleanse me for the many times when I’ve lost sight of Your presence in me. Your gift to me is an awe-inspiring and humble grace. Father, I commit to offering my own body and soul as living sacrifice in order to be pleasing to You.
I acknowledge that I am dependent on the power and presence of Your Holy Spirit to serve and reverence Your holy name. Take me to You to clean me and purify me and make me more like Jesus through Your Holy Spirit. I pray in Jesus name. Amen.
